The Selected Short Stories of Sarah A. Chrisman -Silk-bound, Art-book edition

This beautiful book is currently residing in Japan! It was bought by a fan in Ishikawa prefecture, a lovely area located on the western coast of Honshu which is lapped by the Sea of Japan and famous for its meticulously cultivated traditional gardens.

The case (or, "cover") of this book is constructed of three different varieties of genuine silk: charmeuse, chiffon, and a shot-silk taffeta which was hand-woven in Thailand using traditional methods. It is decorated with merino wool, and artifacts representing stories within the collection. The ribbon book-mark is real silk, and the end-papers are imported, hand-made paper from India. Even the end-tapes, a totally invisible element of the book's construction, are real silk, as a mark of the creator's dedication to quality.

This beautiful copy of Waisted Curves... was custom-ordered by a fan in the U.K. as a gift to a reader in New York. Bound in specially chosen Apricot Sunrise shot-silk (imported from Thailand), the cover shimmers in sunlight: held one direction, it has the orange glow of a brilliant sunrise, tilted another way, it reflects gold.
